We are looking for volunteers interested in becoming Trail Rangers to help us keep our trails in safe and good condition. Trail Rangers will inspect natural surface trail in assigned sections, at least 4 times a year on a quarterly basis, plus after major storm events. Rangers will be asked to do light maintenance work on assigned trails as well.

Trail Ranger inspection reports alert staff to safety and maintenance needs, and light maintenance work helps us improve the overall trail network in Montgomery Parks!

Training, t-shirt and hat, and supplies will be provided.

Minimum age of volunteers: 18

Job type: Long-term (6 months+)

Volunteer type:  Adult, Senior (55+)

Duties:
+ Inspect and fill out surveys for assigned trail(s) at least once a quarter (schedule is up to the volunteer). Quarters begin Jan 1, April 1, July 1 and Oct 1.
+ Inspect trail(s) after major storm events.
+ Do light maintenance and clearing of assigned trails.

Requirements:
+ Be self motivated, reliable and a good communicator.
+ Fill out required trail inspection surveys and report volunteer hours.
+ Able to walk for an unspecified amount of time on uneven ground.
