Montgomery Parks are wonderful places to visit, but sometimes litter and trash get into our parks and needs to be removed - this is where you come in! A Cleanup Coordinator will lead you and other volunteers in various projects this spring and summer to help get the trash out of the park and where it belongs.We welcome individuals and families to join in! These events are SSL approved!Please note that when an event fills up, it will disappear from the schedule. Cleanups will be added throughout the season, so check back often!Upcoming Cleanups:6/5 Cloverly Local ParkAll cleanups are pre-approved for SSL hours. Children under 14 years old must have a registered parent/guardian with them. **Every individual must pre-register/fill out an application to participate, including parents/guardians.**Covid Guidelines:- Volunteers must bring a mask- Volunteers must keep 6 feet apart from volunteers outside of their household- Volunteers are not required to wear a mask unless they cannot keep 6 ft apart from unvaccinated participants such as youth.- Volunteers may not ask others for their vaccination status.- Anyone feeling sick or in recent contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, may not volunteer at the event(s) assigned.All volunteers must submit Montgomery Parks COVID-19 waivers:- When signing up on this site, it will give adult volunteers the option to submit the waiver electronically.- Volunteers under 18 years old must print the waiver in the application and have a parent/guardian sign by hand, and submit the form at the cleanup event.To register for a cleanup event, click the Schedule tab and click "sign up". Scout troops, corporate groups, student groups, and community organizations can schedule a private Park cleanup event. Work with your team to remove trash & litter from our Parks! Group leaders can submit one application on behalf of their group (select "group"). We prefer at least two weeks notice before the cleanup, but as long as you let us know about your project we'll do our best to support your efforts! Organize a Group Cleanup!What we'll need:1. Cleanup date and times2. Cleanup location (Find a park near you!)3. Estimated group size and age range4. Would you like to pick up a Parks Cleanup Kit? Kits include trash bags, recycle bags, and work gloves. Trash grabbers are optional and must be returned to our Wheaton office.5. Submit the Cleanup Results form*Eligible for SSL HOURS*Children under 14 years old must have a parent/guardian with themAll groups must follow the current Covid 19 Requirements and Park Safety Guidelines.
