Maryland Emancipation Day in commemoration of the 161st year (1864-2025) when Maryland Constitutional Convention wrote the third state constitution, which abolished slavery in Maryland, went into effect November 1, 1864.

Join us at the Oakley Cabin African American Museum & Park to help with living history, archaeology hands-on activities, crafts, and old-fashioned games for children.
