Love archaeology AND want to help us celebrate Maryland Archaeology Month at Needwood Mansion?
Join Montgomery Park's Archaeology staff at our Family Archaeology Day where we introduce visitors to the world of archaeology. Visitors will excavate on simulated sites, tour the archaeology lab, and learn about Park archaeology projects.
We are looking for friendly volunteers to assist Staff and Activity Captains with several hands-on activities: searching for artifacts, washing and describing artifacts, tin-smithing, marble making, quill pen writing, old time games, wicki-up making, and more!
Volunteers 14 years and older can sign up.
We welcome family volunteers, but volunteers under 12-13 must have a parent/guardian who stays with them at their station. Each individual must have an application on file with us.
This activity is Student Service Learning (SSL) approved.
