Weekend trail workdays take place primarily throughout the Spring & Fall seasons.The minimum age to volunteer is 15 years old, however 13 & 14 year old's may volunteer if an adult family member participates with them. All Volunteer Trail Workdays are SSL approved.

Children of all abilities between the ages of 3-15 will be learning to fish at our accessible pond with veteran volunteers to highlight Military Appreciation Month!On this special day, volunteers with fishing experience will help children with physical or developmental disabilities learn how to fish. Volunteers will also help with setting up and breaking down the site, greeting participants and directing them to the various activities. If you cannot volunteer for the whole day, you can choose either the early or later shift - whichever is most convenient for you!

Our Summer Camp Counselors help kids explore the Chesapeake Bay and the watershed region through sailing, camping*, canoeing and more!
We will begin the week by exploring the Bay by boat as we trawl for fish, dredge for oysters and analyze water samples looking for microscopic life forms. By mid-week, we take a more intimate look at the Bay's waterways through canoeing, camping, crabbing, and fossil hunting.*This position requires two consecutive nights of camping in Southern Maryland.

Under the supervision of the Cabin John Ice Skating Director, Instructional Assistants are assigned to help Group Lesson Instructors in the "Learn to Skate" program, which include lessons, clinics, and camps.
