Volunteer Weekend Trail Workday projects are a great way to support one of Montgomery Parks most popular facilities.The minimum age to volunteer is 15 years old, however 13 & 14 year old's may volunteer if an adult family member participates with them. Montgomery Park's is hosting our annual All-Anglers Fishing Rodeo this May! Children of all abilities between the ages of 3-15 will be learning to fish at our accessible pond with volunteers to highlight Military Appreciation Month!On this special day, volunteers with fishing experience will help children with physical or developmental disabilities learn how to fish.Shift is from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm, Volunteers will help with setting up and breaking down the site, greeting participants and directing them to the various activities. **WE ARE NOT TAKING ON ANY NEW EAGLE SCOUT PROJECTS UNTIL EARLY 2025**Thanks for thinking of Montgomery Parks as a place for your Eagle Scout project! We often have ideas for potential Eagle projects, but the number of Eagle Scout candidates far outnumbers them. We often require the scout to seek out a suitable project and suggest it to us. Choose a park location that is convenient to you and explore the area to see which amenities you can help create or restore. Park staff will work with you to review your project proposal prior to approval. *Looking for skilled ice skaters only!* Cabin John Ice Rink provides a variety of ice skating programs for the public. Children can learn to skate and improve their skills through the group lessons we offer. Ice Skating Instructional Assistants provide the extra hands necessary to provide high quality instruction and improve student success and enthusiasm for this wonderful sport. Under the supervision of the Cabin John Ice Skating Director, Instructional Assistants are assigned to help Group Lesson Instructors in the "Learn to Skate" program, which include lessons, clinics, and camps. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to an entire skating season, and are between the ages of 14 and 17.For more details, please click on Duties and Requirements.

Montgomery Parks has many parks and trails that are accessible and provide beneficial exercise to walkers of all fitness levels. We are seeking a volunteer Walking Club Leader to show off our beautiful parks and trails and to host a Seniors' walking club, called the Montgomery Explorers.The Walking Club Leader will assist in leading an in-person weekly walk (approximately 3 miles) for the Montgomery Explorers on some of the most scenic and accessible park trails in the county, along with walks in more urban parks.Click on Job Details and then Apply if you are interested.
