Ice Skating Instructional Assistants provide the extra hands necessary to provide high quality instruction and improve student success and enthusiasm for this wonderful sport. Under the supervision of the Cabin John Ice Skating Director, Instructional Assistants are assigned to help Group Lesson Instructors in the "Learn to Skate" program, which include lessons, clinics, and camps. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to an entire skating session season.

Montgomery Parks offers many wonderful programs throughout the year for residents in Montgomery County and beyond. While Park staff and volunteers help run these programs, we also provide support services to individuals with disabilities to encourage their participation in the activities of their choice. Activities can include ice skating, tennis, and a variety of interactive nature and history programs.Inclusion Support Volunteers help us meet this need by modifying activities for individuals with disabilities and facilitating positive social interactions with others.We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with programs located at either an ice rink, a tennis facility, historic site or nature center. A schedule will be worked out with staff, but we are looking for a committment to the duration of the program or season.Volunteers will receive training and placed with programs where and when they are needed. We are looking for volunteers that enjoy helping others, and want to help everyone have fun, learn something and enjoy themselves at one of our parks! **When applying, please fill out the OPTIONAL information section of the application (at the bottom) so we can see if this will be a good match**

Weekend Volunteer Trail Workdays are over for the season. We will be back at it again in early Spring. Please click on Job Details and then Apply to receive an email announcement of the upcoming Spring schedule in March. Volunteer Trail Workday projects are great way to support Parks by helping to maintain and expand the 165 mile natural surface trail network, one of Montgomery Parks most popular facilities. The minimum age to volunteer is 15 years old, however 13 & 14 years old may volunteer if an adult participates with them. All projects are SSL approved.
