Weekend Volunteer Trail Workday projects are a great way to support one of Montgomery Parks most popular facilities. By participating in a volunteer group trail maintenance or construction project you will be helping improve the natural surface trail network for all to enjoy. The minimum age to volunteer is 15 years old, however 13 & 14 years old may volunteer if an adult participates with them. We often ask the scout to find a suitable project. Choose a park location that is convenient to you and explore the area to see what amenities you can help create or restore. Park staff will work with you to review your project proposal prior to approval. We are looking for scouts that are good communicators, stick to a schedule and are hardworkers!
This coming winter, we don't want the fun to stop just because it is cold out, so we are hosting several s'more parties in our parks. For those of you that don't know what those are, it's a marshmallow roasted over a fire, smashed between two graham crackers, with some chocolate bar thrown in for good measure! We need volunteers to help us with managing our fire pits so that our park guests can take care of making their own ooey-gooey snacks (with a little help from volunteers!).Volunteers will start fires in our fire pits, keep the fire going, make sure every thing is safe, and assist guests with creating their s'mores.We are looking for mature and responsible volunteers, preferably with fire monitoring experience. Are you a group leader looking to do some Team Building, have your group give back to the environment, or just them get out in the parks? We can help you with that!
