Thanks for thinking of Montgomery Parks as a place for your Eagle Scout project! Sometimes we have ideas for potential Eagle projects, but the number of Eagle candidates far outnumbers them. We often ask the scout to find a suitable project. Choose a park location that is convenient to you and explore the area to see what amenities you can help create or restore. Park staff will work with you to review your project proposal prior to approval. We are looking for scouts that are good communicators, stick to a schedule and are hardworkers!

We need your help to keep our parks and streams clean! Due to COVID we have a few more requirements, but organizing and holding a cleanup event can still be fun and is a great way to get outdoors and help your local environment!The Volunteer Service Office will work with you and your team to organize a safe cleanup event.Here are current COVID requirements (these MAY change):-ALL volunteers must fill out Montgomery Parks COVID-19 waivers prior to volunteering at your cleanup.-Volunteers must bring and wear a mask, as it is mandatory to use when a minimum of 6-foot social distancing cannot be met. -Your group size cannot exceed 25 volunteers, and needs at least one adult supervisor per 10 volunteers.-Your volunteers must a pre-register (no drop-ins) with you to control the group size.-You need a check-in list to keep track of those who actually show up to the cleanup.-Volunteer Contact information must be collected during volunteer registration for contact tracing purposes-CDC guidelines should be shared prior and posted at your cleanup.-Volunteers are required to keep AT LEAST 6 feet between them and anyone else outside of their household.-Sanitizer gel provided by you if hand washing is not available.-Shared items must be sanitized between uses. -If bathrooms are available at the site, volunteers use them at their own risk.-Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adultIf you and your group can meet these requirements, and are ready to set up a project, we will need to know five things in order to get your cleanup organized: 1) The date you would like to do a cleanup 2) Where you would like to do the cleanup (a specific location is great but it's fine to have a general area or even no preference) 3) The estimated size and ages of your group 4) How long you plan on working for 5) If you would like to have a private event or are looking for additional volunteers.
